Protein packed power balls – Maalaadu

July 25, 2013

Sugar rush? Man’s worst enemy is the ‘white sugar’. Brown sugar, palm sugar take a priority in my kitchen. Maalaadu is a popular bakshanam from Tirunelveli, I was taught how to make this simple sweet by Nags (who happens to be my hubby) maternal Grand Mom. It’s a killer of a recipe I say. Her […]

The crust from an old cookery book by  Marguerite Patten (Cookery in Color). What’s […]

Cracker of a cracker – Graham Cracker

Impressed by the recipe from the Washington Post, I decided to try it out. Simple flavours, but great! Crispy and delectable, can’t stop myself from munching on more!

No cakes this weekend. Only cookies. So, stuck to simple whole wheat cookies just mildly spiced. Adapted from the Pillsbury book, it was quite simple to pull it off.

Everything that we do is out of inspiration!

Inspired by Nigel Slater’s Beetroot Chocolate Cake, I tried substituting eggs with flax seeds. Dense and moist, I used chocolate that is 70% cacao solids, so it’s not overly sweet. In the real sense, one cannot binge on it  🙂 My photo is bad though 🙁 I like shooting in Natural light and was deprived of it!
