Lavender enflames passion, and in this case my passion to cook and bake! Not only it is beautiful, gentle and soft, it is a fragrant aromatic herb that relieves stress and has calming properties. Widely used in essential oils, teas and gourmet cooking. Lavender has a personality, inspires people to tap into their creative self. I’m […]

Strawberries are often whimsically referred to as the fruit of love and passion. The one obvious reason is the strawberry’s heart-shaped form, its sweetness and its vivid red color. There are several traditions where strawberries are integral. Here’s my post to this years Valentine’s Day: Strawberry Jam. I love making this, it is simple, delicious […]

It was our 2nd second day in New York. And I had already started shopping for berries. I picked fresh raspberries and black berries from BJ’s. I couldn’t wait until morning, so I had to make an instant dessert! No butter and eggs to whip up a fancy dessert. All we had at 10 in […]

During my trip to NYC, I wanted to use many ingredients and cook up as many fancy meals as possible! All my brother had to do, was introduce me to BJs. I loved going there everyday. I was fancied by the mini color peppers. Everything is big in the US. And so was the packet […]

Awww… who are the “Three Musketeers”? Slum Dog Millionaire movie tells you the answers! Well, I have a good appetite and my “Three Musketeers” are Spinach, Corn and Mushroom – they are the awesome 3. I’ve adapted the recipe from 2 places. The crust from an old cookery book by Marguerite Patten (Cookery in Color). What’s […]

I’ve always loved making this, adapted from an old book. No nonsense simple recipe which does not require you to melt chocolate. I also managed to lay my hands on Ricotta Cream Cheese (Auroville) which is rarely available. So, I frosted my minis with it and silver balls although my photo is without the frosting! […]

No cakes this weekend. Only cookies. So, stuck to simple whole wheat cookies just mildly spiced. Adapted from the Pillsbury book, it was quite simple to pull it off.

Inspired by Nigel Slater’s Beetroot Chocolate Cake, I tried substituting eggs with flax seeds. Dense and moist, I used chocolate that is 70% cacao solids, so it’s not overly sweet. In the real sense, one cannot binge on it 🙂 My photo is bad though 🙁 I like shooting in Natural light and was deprived of it!
